As I mentioned in a previous post, my husband and I discussed the benefits of a juicer, and since my husband doesn't like eating some vegetables and fruit, we decided juicing might be a good idea. So we finally bought our own juicer late last year, and I honestly wonder why we put it off for so long. We love it. The review I'm providing here is for the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juice Extractor. However, if you are looking to buy a juicer, consider this review as well as others to get the juicer that fits your needs.

Benefits of the Hamilton Beach Juicer
For someone who is not mechanically inclined (like me), a device that is easy to assemble is important. The assembly instructions are easy to understand, and even if you misplace them, the components are self-explanatory enough that you can figure it out yourself.

It is just as easy to use as it is to assemble, actually, more so, and the motor is powerful enough that you can use it to juice a variety of fruits and vegetables. While the mouth of the Hamilton Beach Juice Extractor is wide enough to accommodate most fruits and vegetables, you'll still need to cut some fruits up (mangos, for example).

The pulp bin is large and easy to clean. Also, one note about the pulp: depending on what you are juicing, it might actually be a good idea to save it (as long as you can use it within 24 hours) since it contains fiber and other important nutrients. There are a number of recipes where it can be used, or you could use it in outdoor compost.

The Juice
You will not be able to buy a better juice in the grocery store. When you make your own juice, you can follow whatever recipes you like; however, I often enjoy making up my own cocktails.

See for Yourself
This is what I started with. Obviously, the oranges and bananas had to be peeled.

And the following two pictures are the end result, or part of it. I still had a banana and half of an orange left to juice when I needed to empty the cup.
